Fall

Fall, a time for apples, colds, and more apples.

So I am getting over a cold that hit me this weekend.  I missed yet another Fraternity picnic b/c of it and so I haven't spent any time with them this month and it seems odd.  I also have another date for profession, but I am not going to post it for certain until it is more settled.  Besides, I am still a little bummed about it being so far away when I thought it was going to be so much sooner.

But I went apple picking before the sickness set in w/ B-study peeps.  I got 1/2 a bushel of apples...  I've already made 1 pie and an apple bake that turned into more like oatmeal w/apples, and I've been eating like 2 a day at least,....... and yet I still have almost a full 1/2 bushel basket full.  What gives?  I am planning at least 2 more pies, possibly more if my freezer will hold them.  I also thought about making some applesauce (although I've never made it before).

They are the best apples ever though.  I don't know if it is b/c you pick them yourself and there's a sense of accomplishment ... or if it's b/c they are a lot fresher than store bought and less bruised (hopefully).  Probably both.  Point is... I've got apples.

I had the 3rd PSR class and I am wondering if I will do it again next year or not for several reasons.  Maybe I don't like doing it in a larger parish.  Or maybe that is not the ministry I should be doing afterall.  I dunno.  But we'll see how this year plays out.

Meanwhile, I am going to go grab my box of tissues and meds and go to bed.

night.

  1. Ohhh, I wish I lived closer to you and your pies.
And I DO think PSR is different in a larger parish than it is in a smaller one. I'm sorry it's not going as you planned.

  2. I can't wait to go apple picking tomorrow. Owen is really excited about it:) It will be ALL of our first time:) Sometimes finding the right co-teacher can also make a difference with PSR. I think if I didn't have such a wonderful co-teacher when I did it, it would have been harder plus, even if the co-teacher is a good one, you still have to find the balance between you. Also, it can be harder the first year, with there being lots of unknowns. I really hope it starts getting better for you. When I did it I really enjoyed it. maybe eventually, when my kids are older we can teach together:) Though I don't know, maybe we wouldn't mesh well, LOL! Just try to think that each class will get better....and maybe it will:)
